Kingpen Slim - “Big”
Do it big. Do it bigger. Do it BIGGEST.
That’s what it’s all about, man. You gotta have everything big. Everything. Big car. Big house. Big ego. Big breast implants. Ev-ry-thing BIG! That’s how America works. And no one knows this better than D.C. rapper Kingpen Slim. A mixtape warrior, King issued his latest tape, The Beam Up 2: So Cinematic this past summer. I’ve been bumping it for the last little while, and I’ll say that the record certainly lives up to it’s subtitle, especially this knockout track. On this one King seems to channel the spirits of Kanye, the entire roster of Cash Money Records, and Beebe from that episode of “Doug” where she kept interrupting Doug’s song to make everything bigger to create a really amped-up, really freakin’ awesome song. The choir of voices, the celebratory feel, the redheads giving him head, hell, even the Autotuned parts near the end…it all comes together in this anthemic, larger-than-life listen. This is what you need to listen to to feel good and make your day instantly better.
Hey, go big or go home.
